Timeless Interior of a Family House with an Exposed Concrete Ceiling

In the Ore Mountains, a modern family house was completed, with both the architecture and interior design created by Kastner Hodek Architects. The project was developed as a whole – from the initial concept studies to the final interior solutions. For bespoke furnishings and detailed furniture craftsmanship, the NAVO team was selected, delivering a complete set of custom-made furniture. The goal was to create an interior that is durable and easy to maintain, while retaining its aesthetic value and resisting short-lived design trends.

A defining feature of the house is the exposed concrete ceiling, which lends the interior a strong character and emphasizes its timeless appeal. In contrast, solid oak flooring was chosen to bring warmth and the natural texture of wood into the space. A key element is the custom-made furniture by NAVO, designed to harmonize with the house’s architecture while providing practical solutions for everyday living. The overall concept blends a modern architectural expression with natural materials.

For the furniture solutions, white lacquered Egger Perfect Sense W1100 PM boards were combined with brushed oak veneer treated with Osmo natural wax. The kitchen and bathrooms are complemented by black compact Egger U999 ST76 surfaces, known for their durability and striking appearance. All furniture movement is supported by Blum fittings, ensuring longevity and reliability. Thanks to the careful selection of materials and precise craftsmanship, the interior successfully combines practicality, functionality, and a high level of aesthetics.

The interior is further equipped with AEG kitchen appliances, a Franke sink and faucet, and a custom-designed extractor hood with a tailored venting solution. Interior doors between the living room and the hallway, also supplied by NAVO, contribute to the smooth visual and functional connection of different areas of the home. The result is an interior that respects the character of a timber-clad mountain house while providing modern comfort. The space ages gracefully, with elegance and with a focus on the quality of materials and meticulous detailing.
